65th Anniversary of the End of World War Two Parade and Luncheon

The Royal Canadian Legion, Esquimalt Dockyard Branch 172 is organizing and hosting a parade and luncheon on the 65th Anniversary of the End of WWII. The parade will form at the Branch at 622 Admirals Road and march to the Esquimalt Memorial Park where a commemorative ceremony will be held. Four veterans representing the Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine will lay wreaths on behalf of their services inmemory of those who served during the war. Sppeches will be given and clergy will officiate. Following the ceremony, the parade will march back to the Esquimalt Dockyard Branch and a luncheon will be served in the upper hall.
Numerous Veterans organizations, Canadian Armed Forces, both regular & reserve and Cadet units will participate.
Invitation to attend is extended to all veterans of World War Two. In order to ensure that adequate preparations are made it is requested that veterans who will be attending and who are members of a Branch of the Legion RSVP to their Branch. WWII veterans who do not belong to a Legion Branch are requested to RSVP to Gail Hanson at 250-479-1352.
