Canadian Diabetes Association: Setting the Mood for Good Health

In recognition of March as National Nutrition month, the event will focus on how mood affects food choices, strategies how to overcome mood challenges with a chronic illness and inspiring stories from people living with diabetes. The event will offer practical information for those living with or at risk of developing diabetes.
Fiona Devereaux, Registered Dietician (RD) and a speaker for the event will explore some of the key barriers to eating healthy.Other speakers in the event include James Morrell RN, MN, CDE and Diabetes Nurse Educator at the Royal Jubilee Hospital and Yves Provost and Nel Peach, inspirational speakers living with diabetes. Yves Provost, Victoria resident living with type 2 diabetes, cycled from Victoria to Halifax in 2009 to raise funds for the Association. Nel Peach, 69 and recipient of the Association's 2008 National Volunteer Award, was the only BC resident with type 1 diabetes who carried the Winter Olympic torch.
