Stein Valley Interpretive Hike

The Stein Valley area has for centuries had a very special and spiritual meaning to the aboriginal people in the Lytton region, and has many unique pictographs and petroglyphs. This river valley is as an unlogged and unscarred wilderness. On November 23 in 1995, the Stein Valley Nlaka'pamux Heritage Park was formally made official, and this region is jointly managed by the provincial government and the Lytton Indian Band.
Transportation to the Stein trail head will be provided by as small bus as the Lytton Ferry can only carry two cars in one crossing. The hike starts off on easy trail but nearing the pictograph site hikers have to a steep hike over the "Devil's Staircase" making this a moderate level hike. Hiking shoes is required and hikers are asked to bring their own lunch and drinking water.
This hike "kicks off" the Lytton River Festival weekend of events. Come and stay for a fun filled weekend.
